5 Easy Ways to Lose Weight

1. Eat Healthy Foods

A healthy diet should be rich in fibre because fibre helps food to move through the body.  Better still, foods that are rich in fibre tend to be low in calories too and leave less room for other foods, making you feel full. Although there is a general belief that fat leads to obesity, a diet should include healthy fats because the body needs fat to function and produce essential fatty acids. Being healthy brings other benefits besides that all important feel good factor, because if you are generally healthy you will be more mobile and energetic - this in itself will promote further weight-loss. Try to also ensure your diet includes lean proteins, which will keep you feeling full and balance out the carbohydrates by preventing insulin spikes.


2. Drink Plenty of Water

If you want to lose weight and keep it off, drink plenty of water. Water is an appetite suppressant, meaning it reduces your urge to eat. Water not only flushes out toxins and keeps your body hydrated, but it also improves your sense of well-being – leaving you feeling more motivated to lose weight. You do not have to wait until you feel thirsty to take water.



3. Eat Several Meals a Day

You should eat about five meals a day, because eating frequent meals allows your stomach to digest  food better. Whenever you get cravings, eat foods that are low in calories such as fruits and salads. If you lose track of what you usually eat in a day, you could keep a food diary to get an idea of how many calories you are consuming, which will help you moderate your diet. If you are struggling with moderating quantities you eat, try using smaller plates in darker colours.



 4. Eat Breakfast

Do not skip your breakfast if you want to lose weight. If you skip breakfast, you will be hungry throughout the day and this means you will end up eating more than you would have. Skipping breakfast also distorts hunger signals, meaning you will have trouble determining when you are full.



5. Do Simple Exercises

Exercise helps your body burn fat directly and increases metabolism, which in turn will help your body burn even more fat. You do not have to join a gym or to jog everyday to lose weight.
